This extension "Stealth X" (the "Extension") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your information. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Extension handles and how it is used.
Information We Collect and Store
The Extension is a Chrome extension that locally hides UI elements on X (x.com / twitter.com) that would identify your own account. The Extension does not require account registration and does not collect personal information, analytics data, advertising identifiers, browsing history, or location information.
The Extension stores only the following settings locally using Chrome's storage.sync:
- Master on/off state for masking
- Per-item toggles (display name, @username, avatar, banner, bio, location, join date, post count, follower/following counts)
These values are boolean toggles only. No personally identifiable information, tweet content, authentication tokens, or cookies are stored. If you have Chrome Sync enabled, these boolean preferences may sync across your own devices via your Google account; this is a Chrome platform feature and not a transmission performed by the Extension itself.
How We Use Information
The locally stored settings are used only for the following purposes:
- Apply your chosen masking preferences to the X UI on your device
- Preserve your preferences across page reloads and browser restarts
Third-Party Services
The Extension does not use advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or third-party trackers.
The Extension does not upload any page content, tweet data, account information, or usage data to our servers or to third-party servers. All masking happens locally inside your browser.
Sharing with Third Parties
We do not provide your information or your preferences to third parties unless required by law.
Data Retention and Deletion
Settings saved by the Extension are stored in Chrome's local storage. They remain there until you reset them from the popup, clear extension data, or uninstall the Extension.
Security
The Extension stores only your preference toggles locally. Because the Extension does not operate any backend server, your preferences and browsing activity are not transmitted to us through normal use of the Extension.
Children's Privacy
The Extension does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as needed. The updated policy becomes effective when posted on this page.
